Membership is open to anyone currently or formerly employed in analysis in the context of crime or intelligence, whether public or private sector in the UK or Ireland. This includes (but is not limited to) intelligence, fraud, crime and military analysts and researchers. Membership is also open to students (aged 18 or over) or academics, with a demonstrated interest in crime or intelligence analysis.
All applicants are required to provide a suitable referee, however if you apply with a police pnn or Govt. gsi email address this is usually sufficient, if you don't have this then your referee needs to be someone who can confirm you work in the relevant sector whose own status we can verify.
There are three types of membership available:
To complement the significant investment made by employers in formal analytical training, ACIA exists to fill the gap between attending courses and delivering competent products. ACIA facilitates analysts’ Continuous Professional Development (CPD) through the provision of easily accessible opportunities to learn and develop.
The association facilitates networking with other members across a diverse range of analytical backgrounds (government, law enforcement and private sector).
We believe this practitioner-to-practitioner connection to be of significant benefit to employers as members share skills and experience to help each other apply analytical practise to problems affecting communities and businesses from neighbourhood level up to serious and organised criminality.
ACIA is a registered non-profit making company with minimal overheads, and many of our activities are made possible by the contributions of our Corporate members and other supporting organisations.
Joining ACIA as a corporate member is a very cost effective way to reach a specific target market, develop brand image, strengthen key client relationships or communicate key strategic messages. In return for your membership, your business will be able to promote its name, products and services to specific markets.
If you are interested in supporting ACIA through sponsorship of some of our activities then please contact the President to discuss: President@acia.org.uk

Membership for all types lasts for one year however in the first few years of its existence ACIA did not seek annual renewals and extended all memberships several times. This was due, as a non-profit association, to significant financial support from various organisations.
Please note in any event we will send you a reminder shortly before your renewal is due.
